Welcome to Ridgeway District Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc! Thank you for your interest in joining our organization. RDVRS has proudly served the Ridgeway community and Henry County since 1976. Our dedicated members provide emergency care throughout the year, regardless of weather, holidays, or time of day. The is all done on a volunteer basis with few benefits other than personal satisfaction.

We are always looking for individuals to aid in our mission to provide the best emergency care to the citizens of Ridgeway and surrounding Henry County.

We offer various types of memberships in order to fit your abilities and needs. No experience is necessary – training opportunities are available.

EMT, CPR and Emergency Vehicle Operator Class (EVOC) certifications are NOT mandatory requirements when applying for volunteer membership. Members will be given education and training opportunities to meet these requirements.

Joining is easy! All you need to do is complete these simple steps of the application process.

  • 1. Membership Application – Please complete the application in its entirety, leaving no blank spaces.
  • 2. Criminal and Driving History Request Form – This agency requires a current driving transcript and criminal history to complete the application process. Please complete form in its entirety. Blank spaces will only delay the process.
  • 3. EMS Certifications – Please attach copies of any current EMS certification(s) you hold to the application before submitting.
  • 4. FYI – Please note that other documents may be required. Contact the Squad Sergeant for additional details.

If you are at least 16 years old and interested in joining Ridgeway District Volunteer Rescue Squad, you can start the process a number of ways.

– Call Ridgeway Rescue Squad crew hall at (276)956-2811 and ask to speak to the Squad Sergeant.
– Send us a message from the contact us section of website, showing interest.
– Contact our Squad Sergeant, who is in charge of RDVRS membership.
– Print Application from Website and deliver or mail application and all required items to:

Duty Requirements

Every RDVRS member is required to pull a share of the duty:

Full Time (Regular) Membership
48 Hours per month
Associate Membership
24 Hours per month
Junior Membership (must be at least 16 years of age)
24 Hours per month
